Babes Wodumo rewarded herself for all the hardwork she has been putting into Gqom by splashing on a R9 million on a fancy house in Durban North, and she is having the last laugh over all the people who have laughed at her for not being proficient in English.
The young musician who has gone from distributing fliers for the late Sfiso Ncwane to being an award nominee at the BET awards says she is a testament that hard work does pay off despite whatever language one speaks.
“It is not about what language one speaks. Look at me, I am not good in English, but look at what hard work has bought me. All those people on twitter laugh at me, but look at where they live and where I live. Who has the better life?”
Babes also deputed claims that she is venturing into gospel music as reported by some publications, instead she indicated that being a pastor’s child she had a deep love for the gospel and will sing songs from that genre every now and then to calm herself down.
“I sing gospel music to myself, for me. Right now it is not part of my career, just a part of my personal life,” she said.
