The Minister of Water and Sanitation in South Africa Nomvula Mokonyane announced today that due to the rising water crises in the Western Cape, they are forced to ban the use of flushing toilets with immediate effect.
“We will be introducing the bucket system to the people of the Western Cape. Starting next week, we will be initiating the bucket system project to Cape Town residents, other areas will follow after. People can use bushes and other methods in the meantime. But we advise them to avoid using toilets by all possible means in the next few days.” said Minister Mokonyane.
