South Africa Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, has revealed that he wants payments from journalists and the companies they work for.
He made these remarks at on his second press conference of the day on Thursday. Earlier on he had held one in connection with the assault case involving Education Deputy Minister Mduduzi Manana.
“Without me, you journalists would spend the day scratching your balls, or knitting booties. But I keep you busy. Every second day I call a press conference and give you something to write and report about. Even on Twitter, people have something to say because I initiate conversation on the platform.”
“I spend so much time talking to you that I do not know what is happening with the police,” he added.
It is understood Mbalula is going to engage the president, once he finds the time between his numerous press conferences, to ask him to create a new portfolio for him: Ministry of Press Conferences and Tweets.
